To utilize Mailing Services, first order your postcards on the website, then choose "Direct Mail" in the shipping portion of the Job Cart. The address in the Shipping area should be the address you want the "overs" (extra un-mailed pieces) shipped to after the mailing is completed.

The Turnaround time chosen on the website is for the printing portion of the postcards. Mail Services adds 2 to 3 business days to the Ship Date/Turnaround time.

To order Mailing Services, place your printed items in the shopping cart, then choose “Direct Mail” in the shipping area of the cart. The address in this area should be the address you want the "overs" (extra un-mailed pieces) shipped to after the mailing service is completed.

Mailing Services as paid for on the website includes: processing 1 mailing list, duplication removal if requested, CASS Certification, inkjet addressing, postal presorting & delivering to USPS (For booklets/catalogs/calendars: $35/1000 plus $150 setup; all other products: $24/1000 plus $85 setup).  Additional fees will apply for other services such as processing multiple mailing lists, tabbing if needed (and not chosen on the website), inserting, or delivery of non-mailed pieces if more than 10% of the quantity ordered.  Postage is quoted separately, after checkout.

Once your job has been sent to press and a “ship date” is secured, your mailing job will be scheduled to mail two (2) business days after the Ship Date of the printing portion.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I design my artwork for mailing?

Your art/design should include the minimum space requirements needed to inkjet address your piece (minimum 4” wide x 2” tall in the bottom right corner of the mailing panel for postcards and brochure mailers).  The inkjet area must be either completely unprinted and no borders are allowed on the bottom or right edge of the mailing panel.  If you are mailing a booklet, other USPS requirements may apply - please check with us prior to final design so we can confirm your design meets requirements to mail at the lowest applicable rate.

Which postage rate should I choose?

Consider the class that best suits your budget requirements and expected delivery time of your project.  First Class mail delivers within 2-5 business days and automatically includes returns for undeliverable addresses. If delivery time is not as specific for your project, you may want to consider mailing via Standard Presort, which has a general delivery timeframe of 7 to 15 business days. Note that USPS does not guarantee a delivery date or timeframe for Standard or Non-Profit Standard mail.

Can I mail Non-Profit through PrintPlace?

If you already have a Non-Profit mailing permit through the USPS, you can mail through PrintPlace using our Non-Profit indicia. Please visit the Non-Profit mailing tab in the Additional Information section of our mailing page for specific requirements.

Can I include my mailing permit in my artwork?

We mail your jobs through our local USPS business mail entry unit using our mail permit.  In order for PrintPlace to mail your job, it must include our indicia. It's not necessary to add the indicia to your artwork; we will inkjet the appropriate indicia during the addressing process, according to the postage type you designate when you place the order.

Which formats do you accept for mailing lists?

We accept Excel files and comma delimited text files (.xls, .xlsx, .csv, .txt). Once you place your order, simply upload your mailing list through the website, from your My Account page.

What does mailing list processing, or CASS Certification, include?

When you purchase mailing services, we will review your mailing lists in order to remove duplicate contacts (if requested) and remove any undeliverable addresses through the CASS certification process. There is no additional charge for reviewing your mailing list to remove these items, but it is an optional service that must be specified within the Upload List process.  If you request removal of duplicates, keep in mind that the software only looks for EXACT matches, so "John Smith" versus "Jonathon Smith" will not be recognized as a duplicate record.

What turnaround can I expect for mailing?

Mailing Services adds two business days to your print turnaround time, thus your job will deliver to USPS 2 business days after the "Ship Date" as shown in your account, providing postage has been paid by 2:00 PM CT on the "mailing date."

Can you mail to foreign addresses?

If you have foreign addresses in your mailing list, we can mail those for you.  Contact us for more information regarding international mailing.

How do I pay for postage?

Once you upload your mailing list(s), we will process your list(s) according to your specifications and enter the amount due, which will display in your My Account page.  Postage may be paid via credit card, wire transfer, money order, or cashier’s check (note there is a 5% convenience charge for postage payments made via credit card.)  Credit card payments can be made directly from your My Account page. For other payment methods, contact us to make arrangements and schedule the mail date for your job.


Postage costs are dependent upon the size, weight and thickness of your printed piece, as well as the class of service you choose (First Class or Standard). 

First Class mail arrives at its destination generally in 2 to 5 business days from date of mailing; Standard class, which includes Non-Profit, arrives generally in 7 to 15 business days. (Business days = Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays). Standard mail delivery time is not guaranteed by USPS.

4x6 postcards (or custom trim not less than 3.5x5 or not more than 4.25x6) automatically mail at First Class Presort (unless non-profit) – at an average rate of $.24 each.

Larger postcards, standard sizes up to 6x11 (or custom trim size up to 6.125x11.5), and folded brochures (with final folded size up to 6x11), can be delivered via First Class at approx $.38 each or Standard at approx. $.27 each.

Catalogs/Booklets are dependent upon final weight, which is determined by paper stock, page count and page size. 5.5x8.5 and 6x9 booklets (or custom trim up to 6x10.5 "Slim Jim") can mail at the Letter rate if triple tabbed (for standard books stitched on the longer dimension). For postage estimates on catalogs/booklets, please email us with the paper stock, final size and page count.

Once we receive your mailing list, we will display postage due in your My Account, usually within 24 hours of receipt. Imagine R Power must receive postage funds by 2:00 PM CST on the mailing service date to avoid delays in the mail schedule. Postage may be paid via credit card (postage transactions incur a 5% convenience fee if paid by credit card), cashier's check, money order, or wire/bank transfer.

If you are providing your own list, you will be able to upload your list(s) after checkout on your My Account page.  List format preference is Excel or CSV.  Each field (such as name, company name and address) cannot be more than 50 characters, including spaces & punctuation, or our software will truncate the information.

Bulk Mail Services as paid for on the website includes the processing of one (1) mailing list  Additional lists will cost $85 each to merge. Extensive data work to merge lists may incur additional charges – please email mailing@imaginerpower.com for more information if you think your list(s) may require extra time to process.

Please double-check to make sure your art/design has the minimum space requirements needed to inkjet address your piece (minimum 4” wide x 2” tall in the bottom right corner of the mailing panel – or – reference our templates for Postcards).  If your art does not allow for this, we will not be able to process your mail job at automated rates.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot inkjet your piece if it has UV coating (either Gloss or Dull UV).   You can UV coat the Front side of a postcard, but the back can have aqueous coating only.

Imagine R Power does not “label” pieces for mailing – we inkjet addresses directly on the piece.

There is also an aspect ratio that must be met to keep the lower automated postal rates. All of our standard postcard sizes meet the required aspect ratio (calculated by dividing the larger dimension by the smaller dimension – 4.25x5.5=1.29 - the requirement is 1.30 - 2.5).

All booklets smaller than 8.5 x 11 must be triple tabbed to mail at the Letter rate (maximum size is 6” X 10.5” to mail at the Letter rate).  If mailing at the Letter rate, the back cover of the booklet should be designed so the bound edge is at the bottom of the mailing panel. USPS requires triple tabbing: 1 tab on the left side booklet edge (left of mailing panel) and 2 tabs on the right side edge.  For booklets with non-standard binding, such as "short side" binding for landscape orientation, additional mailing requirements apply.  Please consult with mailing services before sending your job to production if your booklet has a non-standard orientation.

Booklets larger than 6 x 10.5" (or heavier than 3 oz each) will mail at the Flat rate and do not require tabbing. NOTE: the mailing panel MUST be located in the top right corner of the page, with the spine on the right edge of the mailing panel.

Brochures that mail must be either single or double tabbed in order to mail. If the folded/closed edge is at the bottom of the mail panel, the piece can single tab at top for mailing. If the folded/closed edge is at the top of the mailing panel, the piece must double tab at bottom to mail.

If you hold a valid non-profit permit from USPS and would like us to mail at your non-profit rate, download and complete this form and then email to mailing@imaginerpower.com or fax 817-701-3701.  Average rate for standard letter is $.173 for non-profit.

Nonprofit organizations and businesses can both mail via Standard class. The only difference is that authorized nonprofit organizations are eligible for additional savings on Standard Mail.  Thus, nonprofit mailings, like regular standard mailings, are not guaranteed by USPS to deliver within or by a certain date.  Nonprofit mailings will generally deliver in 7-15 business days from the mailing date.

The mailing panel of your piece must have both the name and address that exactly match the address on the paperwork issued from USPS for your original non-profit postal permit. It doesn’t have to be in the return address area, but must be somewhere on the mailing panel of the piece.

If you have selected our mailing services to mail your greeting cards, please be advised that the mail processing price does not include the cost of inserting your cards into the envelopes.

Inserting is also available for letterhead or brochures inserting into #10 envelope, 8.5x11 final size pieces into 9x12 envelope, 8.5 x 5.5 final size pieces inserting into 6x9 envelope.
